• Avian Influenza Control and Human Pandemic Preparedness and Response Project The objective of the Avian Influenza Control and Human Pandemic Preparedness and Response Project for Moldova was to minimize the threat posed to humans by Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) and other infectious diseases that originate in animals.
  • Renewable energy from agricultural wastes The main objective of the project was to overcome barriers to the update of biomass technologies by providing examples of best practice (demonstration plants) in the use of biomass fuelled energy systems as a viable alternative to gas, oil and coal and as a sustainable means of addressing the energy supply problems facing rural communities and agro-enterprises.
  • Agricultural Pollution Control The Agricultural Pollution Control Project aimed to increase significantly the use of environmentally friendly agricultural practices by farmers and agro-industry in Moldova in order to reduce nutrient discharge from agricultural sources to the Danube River and Black Sea.
  • Youth Socio-Economic Empowerment Project To enable disadvantaged rural and peri-urban young women and men (ages 14-30) in five selected regions to create/participate in activities leading to their increased socio-economic empowerment, through inclusive support for business creation and innovative community-based service delivery.
  • Investment and Services Project I The Moldova Rural Investment and Services Project (RISP l) was the Bank’s first attempt in this country to consolidate information and financial services targeted at the rural population. RISP l helped to keep on track the earlier reforms to agricultural pricing and marketing and the agricultural trade regime.
  • Rural Finance Project The objective of the project was to develop and test a cooperative rural banking system that would efficiently provide financial services to small, private farmers and rural entrepreneurs.
  • FIRST AGRICULTURAL PROJECT The main objectives of the project were: increase of the efficiency of agricultural research programs, especially, food export programs, strengthening of research institutes in the key sectors of agriculture, including development of sector strategy and preparation of sector investments. 11 private farms and 9 research institutes and state services were beneficiaries of the project.

CAPMU

The Consolidated Agricultural Projects Management Unit (CAPMU) was created by Government Decree on September 29, 1999 by consolidating two project management units that were implementing World Bank financed agricultural projects. CAPMU is currently managing all WB/IDA projects in the agriculture and rural sectors and has been the key agency responsible for coordinating preparation of the projects.

In present CAPMU implements the following projects:

CAPMU staff has a wide experience in implementation of the World Bank financed projects and experience in assisting to other international donors financed projects. CAPMU is equipped with the all necessary office spaces, office and logistic equipment, vehicles, internet access, web site.
